Sicilian Family Winemaking at its Best

Renowned family winemakers Donnafugata are holding a wine dinner at Civico 47 on Thursday, 9th May at 6:30pm.

Founded in the 1980s, but with 170 years of winemaking history behind them, the Rallo family owners now produce wine from all major Sicilian sub-regions, including Mount Etna, Vittoria, Marsala, and the island of Pantelleria.

An innovative and progressive company, Donnafugata has formed a partnership with fashion house Dolce e Gabbana, and also been a pioneer of women winemakers. This is modern, forward looking Sicily!

The dinner features a full five-course menu from our head chef Matteo Zamboni, matched with seven Sicilian wines from the Donnafugata estates.

Visiting from Sicilia is Brand Ambassador Giovanni Masucci, our host for the evening together with Paolo Orso, from Donnafugata’s Australian distributor Twelvebottles.

Tickets are $225 including all food and wine.

School's Back! - Wine School Returns for 2024

After a successful run through 2023, back by popular demand is Civico 47's Wine School!

Renowned wine educator and “friendly Sommelier" Luke Collard (aka Luca Collardini) returns to take you deeper into the regionality of beautiful Italy.

Starting this February, over ten months we set for new course starting from the coastal Sicilia, visiting the likes of Toscana, sunny Puglia, the altitudes of Alto Adige and many more.

Chef Matteo is back on board to keep your palates invigorated with his regional-specific curated menu to get you feeling like a true local to each visited province.

Included in your evening is 6 glasses of carefully selected wines, a 5-course menu to accompany and your learning material. Long-table places are limited to just 12 people per session. No special knowledge of wine or Italy is required, just bring your palate.

Dietaries must be noted when booking to allow suitable substitutes to be available.

Discounts available to those who book in for multiple school days. Once you reach 3 consecutive bookings, we will send you a personal discount code for up to $75pp off your 3rd course booking.

Civico is always the ideal location to take your special person any day of the year but we are giving you a little bit of help this year to make it extra special! 

Chef Matteo's $165pp 5-course Valentines menu will tick all the right boxes and should you want to up the ante we have some optional extra's to help you secure that "chef's kiss". 

We will also be opening for lunch Wednesday 14th February so if you would like to get in a little early, our doors will be open with standard menus and optional extras available.

A Summer Seafood & Champagne Lunch at Civico

Come and celebrate all things summer on Saturday the 18th of November with sensational shellfish and fabulous fish.

Our head chef Matteo Zamboni has spoken to Sydney’s best seafood providores and has assembled a luxurious 4-course menu of Australia’s finest ocean produce. 

To complement the food, sommelier Luke Collard has selected five excellent Champagnes. From an elegant blanc de blancs with the oysters, to a salmon-hued rosé for the marron, you’ll experience the amazing ability of Champagne to match fine seafood – with full commentary from Luke.

Tickets are $325pp inclusive 5 glasses of Champagne from Civico's award-winning list.

For a limited time, Civico 47 are now welcoming BYO wine every Thursday, lunch and dinner. If you’ve got a nice collection at home, or have a favourite wine that’s not on our list - now’s your chance to enjoy the wine with chef Matteo Zamboni’s modern Italian menu.

Corkage is $20 per bottle at lunch, $40 per bottle at dinner. We have beautiful Plumm glassware, decanters where required, and advice on food pairing from our sommelier Luke Collard.

Meat Lovers lunch with Coppertree Farms

Chef Matteo is joining forces with Copper Tree farm to bring you a 4 course sense-ational meat lovers lunch on Saturday, September 23rd.

You will have the opportunity to taste some of the best beef, duck and butter in the country including the famous “retired dairy cow” meat from Copper Tree and the best wagyu beef in Australia from Blackmore.

Think whipped truffle butter served with the signature Civico 47 focaccina, Blackmore wagyu carpaccio, duck ragù, charred Copper Tree tenderloin and much, much more!

Truffle Dinner

Thursday 22nd June

Executive Chef Matteo Zamboni and Sommelier Luke Collard will be again hosting our annual Truffle Dinner along with Truffle Hill Farm & Verduno. 

Matteo has created a unique 4-course truffle menu showcasing the best of Italian food complimented by delicious truffle flavours.

Our Sommelier, Luke has carefully paired each course with a wine from our awarded wine list, which you can optionally choose to add on. 

The 4-course truffle menu is priced at $195pp, with the options to add on paired wines for $125pp.
